Liverpool Music Week announced yesterday that formative alternative rock giants, Dinosaur Jr. will join the master of suspense, John Carpenter for this year’s event.

Their headliner – Mr Carpenter – will grace the somewhat faded grandeur of the Liverpool Olympia Ballroom, while a run of shows will feature at the Grade Grade II listed, Liverpool Dome and Grand Central Hall. With the rest of the events based around the Art’s Club, a musical hub under various guises over the years.

Now in its twelfth year, it boasts being Europe’s largest indoor winter music festival. Liverpool Music Week founder and director, Mike Deane, said: “We are so thrilled to be bringing such an iconic international artist to the city in John Carpenter as this year’s headliner in one of Liverpool’s most iconic and stunning venue spaces.”

There is a whole host of other acts including electronic jazz trio, Gogo Penguin, it will also feature some exciting local acts like Clean Cut Kid and She Drew the Gun.
